"Let it Go"

As in most houses with little girls, Frozen has taken over! Last night I found out, it's not as easy as I had thought for a very pregnant woman to cut out a pattern. But, I did it! I surprised the girls this morning with two Elsa capes! We already had an Anna and Elsa dress.

I got the tutorial from http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/post/1418544/2490481889?link=aHR0cCUzQSUyRiUyRmZlZWRwcm94eS5nb29nbGUuY29tJTJGJTdFciUyRk1ha2VJdEFuZExvdmVJdCUyRiU3RTMlMkYxYVpnQkw1dUxSUSUyRm5vLXNldy1lbHNhLWNhcGUtZnJvbS1mcm96ZW4tYS1kby1pdC10b2dldGhlci1wcm9qZWN0Lmh0bWw=

Yay Payton!

Payton is officially potty trained! I've lost track of the number of days we've gone without a diaper (except at night)... But we are somewhere in the 3 week range! I'm so happy for her! Our house is diaper free.. For a few more weeks!

Not only is she potty trained, she has mastered a few more things. She can count to ten, recognize all her colors, sing her ABC's and even recognize about ten letters. She's growing up too fast!

Bunny!

Payton has been missing her bunny for about a week. We found it! Well... We found it on Ebay! In fact, we still haven't found the real one. Since I had been on strict bed rest at the time, we literally didn't go anywhere. So it is somewhere in our house. But until we find it, she is very happy with her new bunny!

My MIL had recommended that now be a good time to ween her off of the bunny, since obviously we couldn't find it. But Kevin and I decided that with all the changes going on at our house it's just not a good time. Plus, if you saw her face when she sees this bunny you wouldn't wanna take it away from her!

34 Weeks

Alexis told me I'm as big as our house!

34 Weeks

Weight Gain- 31 lbs
Belly Button- Out!
Feeling- I feel really good. Taking it easy is something I definitely needed to be told to do though. Feet and hands are starting to itch; happened in my other pregnancies as well. It's not awful but starting to effect sleep. I'm feeling so ready! Ready to stop worrying about not feeling one of them move. To stop worrying about when they are going to come. And start worrying about all the things that go with having TWO newborns! And raising FOUR kids! I do want them to stay in as long as they can.. At least I keep reminding myself that is what I want! :)
Big Moments- Linea Nigra has appeared. Three things that have never happened in past pregnancies; outie, stretch marks and Linea Nigra. Luckily two of them will go away after birth. Babies are having hiccups a lot. Used to be just Marshall, but now it's both. Seems like all day! Super cute.
Craving- I didn't know I was craving it... But Cowboy Bread my MIL brought over! I ate pretty much the entire pan in 2 1/2 days! Shes on strict orders to never bring it over again. Something tells me I will be begging for it soon!
Stretch Marks- Still just one (now not so) tiny one.
Babies are the size of- Cantaloupes
Next Appointment- NSTs (Non Stress Test) twice a week. OB visit April 7th.
Countdown- 32 days!

33 Week Check Up

Doctor answered some of my questions which was nice. And did a mini ultrasound. Lydia has changed positions, again! It doesn't matter the position with a csection, but explains why I feel her moving constantly it seems. My belly is measuring 37 weeks.

Bathroom Project

Nothing like baby(ies) coming to make you want to "remodel" your bathroom. (Hence the spackle in the picture) It's a project I had started last summer by staining the cabinets. Just wasn't sure how I wanted to finish it. It still isn't done, but getting closer to how I want it.

Took down that ugly towel bar, thanks Dad! Replaced with four towel hooks. Just need to make some things to hang on the wall. Well see if it gets done before they get here, because you know the babies totally care! ;)  Will post more pictures if I make any progress.

33 Weeks

33 Weeks

Weight Gain- 29 lbs (Same as last week)
Belly Button- Half out.
Feeling- Tired. Not sure if it's from all the 'excitement' this past week. Taking it easy over here. For those who know me well, know that this is NOT easy for me!
Big Moments- Finished twin's room! But not going to reveal until they are here!
Craving- BBQ! Thanks Hillbilly!
Stretch Marks- Still just one (now not so) tiny one.
Babies are the size of- Pineapples
Next Appointment- Non Stress Test March 27. Next OB visit March 28
Countdown- 38 days!

Nursery Sneak Peek

*The nursery doesn't actually have green in it. Ran out of time to recover the chair! :( Eventually. Maybe by the big reveal!

32 Week Check Up

... And Ultrasound and Hospital Stay Update !!

Saturday/Sunday/Monday- I had been having contractions since Saturday morning before my diaper shower. Braxton Hicks contractions most likely, but they were getting more frequent and more intense.

Tuesday- Finally decided to call the doctor and went in to Labor and Delivery when Kevin got off work. They gave me an antibiotic at first thinking it would stop contractions. It didn't. So I had to be hooked up to IV and gave me a shot of a muscle relaxer. It calmed the contractions but never fully stopped them. But did make me quite sick for about an hour. Since they were still seeing activity, the next step was to give me a shot of steroids, to help the babies lungs in case we couldn't get the contractions to stop.

Wednesday- I got about 30 mins of sleep all night, that was fun. Kevin was able to sleep (lucky him), even if I'm sure it wasn't the best night of sleep. The contractions definitely slowed. So we got to leave the hospital about 6am. I had contractions about 5 mins apart on the way home from the hospital but once home I probably only had five the rest of the day, which is good! Kevin put in for 8 weeks of paternity leave!! The girls are already getting used to him being home. And this was my first real day of bed rest. I can only get up to go to the bathroom. We went in to get my second round of steroids that night. Quick and pretty much painless visit to the hospital. They acted like the shot was going to be one of the worst pains going in, but it wasn't. And said I'd be sore at the sites...But so far I haven't, so that's a plus! We survived our first full day of Daddy taking care of us, or as he calls himself Mr. Mom!!

Thursday- Got what could be our last ultrasound!! Sadly though you can hardly make out anything. As you can imagine two babies in a small space. We did however get to see poor Marshall with Lydia's bottom once again resting on his face! Both babies looked great! Marshall 4lbs. Lydia 3lbs 13oz. Belly is measuring 36 weeks. We then saw the doctor afterwards. He said everything looked great. Said I could change to modified bed rest. He said to just listen to my body and take it easy. This was good news to hear. Until of course after the doctor, I was so excited to be able to go into Kroger with Kevin and now I am completely wiped out! So obviously my body is telling me I need rest. But so happy to hear babies are measuring well. Now I just rest and try to keep them in as long as possible. :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Pictures from our "week of green"! Because of course you can't just celebrate St Patricks Day on just ONE day!! 🍀

They've appreciated all my efforts until this morning, Alexis says "I don't think I like green milk"

Payton liked it!

Much happier now, with white milk and green Little Debbie cakes.

Diapers, Diapers, Diapers

The aftermath of the diaper shower and months of buying diapers when I found them on sale.

That's a total of ...

536 Newborn
1900 Size 1
768 Size 2
1232 Size 3
2832 Wipes

Based on a website I had found [http://www.southernsavers.com/2012/08/stocking-up-on-diapers-how-much-to-buy-at-what-price/] it estimates whats needed in the first year. In fact it breaks down the best ways to buy them and stock up. So anyone expecting should definitely check the website out!

240x2=480 Newborn
840x2=1680 Size 1
560x2=1120 Size 2
1512x2=3024 Size 3

So it's looking like we are in GREAT shape! I'll be honest, when we found out we were having twins it was one of my biggest concerns. How are we going to afford all these diapers?!?! Now, thanks to the generosity of so many and Kroger coupons I don't have to worry anymore... At least about diapers! :)

Bunny Hats

I had been thinking about the chances of the twins coming before Easter. Should I buy them outfits? My First Easter bibs? Or wait? I decided that since Easter is April 20th and I'm scheduled the 29th that I would plan outfits regardless, for their newborn photoshoot. Plus, once I started looking at Easter things for newborns... There was no turning back!

Here is what I came up with..

http://www.erikajean.com/2014/03/bunny-hats.html?m=1

This is a friend of mine who made them for me! And I couldn't be happier!!! I know how to crochet, but I had never made anything other than blankets. She is super awesome! Thanks so much Erika! I can't wait to see it on them.

Diaper Shower

Today was my diaper shower! My mom, sister and a friend hosted it. Everything turned out awesome. Better than I could have imagined! Lydia and Marshall are so lucky to have so many people who love them. Thanks to everyone who came! The twins' bottoms will thank you soon!

32 Weeks

32 Weeks

Weight Gain- 29 lbs
Belly Button- Half out.
Feeling- Back pain. Getting hard to find a comfortable position to fall asleep... But once I am asleep I usually stay asleep so I am a happy with that!
Big Moments- Diaper shower today! Can't wait to see everyone. Will post pictures later. Hopefully finally finishing nursery this week! Just needs some final touches.
Craving- Nothing really.
Stretch Marks- Still just one tiny one.
Babies are the size of- Jicamas
Next Appointment- Next OB visit/Ultrasound March 20.
Countdown- 45 days!

*What the heck is a Jicama? http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pachyrhizus_erosus

I forgot to mention a few weeks ago I finally got to put my wedding rings back on! I had them off pretty much whole time because I had lost some weight at the beginning, so they were too big. But it was short lived, now my veins are popping out like a steroid injected bodybuilder, so I had to take them off for fear one morning I was gonna wake up and have to have them cut off my finger! Oh yes, they are popping out that bad!

Also... Forgot to post last week that my +27 lbs was the weight I was before I lost weight last year! The weight I never lost from Alexis and Payton. Crazy to think I went into it just wanting to lose 8-10lbs and ended up losing about 30! Or what I'm now realizing is the equivalent of "31 weeks" of not so cute fat. After stepping on the scale last week I asked my husband "Why didn't you tell me I was getting fat before??" He simply said nothing and shrugged his shoulders.. I imagine there wasn't anything acceptable for him to say. ;) I just hope after the twins, I have the same kind of motivation and energy to get back to pre-twin weight! :) Btw for anyone wanting to lose weight... I used (and will use it again) myfitnesspal! I believe in it 100%. I won't get into my thoughts on "dieting"... But I will say you have to work hard for it; there are no quick fixes.

31 Weeks

*Oh yes, the no makeup and dirty fingerprints on the mirror describes my life so well this week! But with that said we did successfully pull off a surprise 30th birthday party for Daddy!!

31 Weeks

Weight Gain- 27.5 lbs
Belly Button- Half out.
Feeling- VERY EMOTIONAL!!
Big Moments- Scheduled CSection for April 29th. 52 days to go! Ahh! See above!
Craving- Nothing really.
Babies are the size of- Coconuts
Next Appointment- Next OB visit/Ultrasound March 20.

Can't believe it's been another week already! I'm so torn between whether I want time to speed up or slow down. I'm anxious to get to a point in the pregnancy where the babies have a good chance of little to no NICU time. That's the ultimate goal! So for that I want time to speed up for sure. But the thought of this being my last pregnancy is so heartbreaking to me. I'm sure that sounds so crazy to some. But even the morning sickness, heartburn and every other uncomfortable thing that goes along with pregnancy... I absolutely love it! And call me crazy again... But I love bringing a newborn home. I love breastfeeding and waking up in the middle of the night. Now of course you'll need to remind me of this in a few weeks/months! :) Crazy to think a chapter of our lives is coming to a close. But so looking forward to what the coming years bring! Alexis and Payton are so fun; I can't wait to see them with the babies. I can't wait to watch the twins grow up together. And with that said I can't wait for our family to be complete! Our complete family of six! And... I can't wait for a glass... Okay, bottle of wine!

One of the only pictures from Daddy's Surprise Party! But this photo says it all, he was definitely surprised! Thanks for everyone's help. Couldn't have pulled it off without you!

Almost forgot... First stretch mark this week! Mommy badges of honor right? Haha

30 Week Check Up

C-Section is scheduled! On or before April 29th we will meet our babies. Ahhh!

Other notes from appt...

Both babies are head down (Lydia was breech). Even though I'm having a c-section... Seems like a waste. But my babies are trying to cooperate. A for effort!

Belly is measuring 34 1/2 weeks.

Everything else is good. Next OB visit/Ultrasound is March 20th.
